  • Minimum Stay

    Maui Dharma Center has a minimum two-night stay.

  • Minimum Booking Advance Notice

    Advance notice of two days is required to reserve a guest room.

  • Booking Payment

    Full advance payment online is required to confirm the reservation.

  • Cancellation Policy

    If you need to cancel for any reason and you notify the Maui Dharma Center two weeks or more in advance of your scheduled arrival date, your payment will be returned.

    If you notify Maui Dharma Center within less than two weeks before your scheduled arrival date, you may use the deposit as a credit toward a future stay or consider giving it as a donation to the center, as there is no refund in this circumstance.

  • Communal Kitchen

    Access to the communal kitchen is provided. Stove, refrigerator and cookware is available.

  • Grocery Shopping

    Located in the center of Paia town, Mana Foods is a high-quality health food grocery store which offers a variety of prepared foods. There is also a Safeway and Foodland fifteen minutes away.

  • Linens, towels and laundry

    Bed linens are provided but towels are not included; you will need to bring your own towels. Our laundry room is available for those on retreat. If you visit for less than one week, please consider taking personal laundry home and doing it there. There is a suggested donation of $3 per load.

  • Check In

    Check-in time is 1:00 PM or after. However, it might be possible to check in earlier than that depending on availability. Even if your room is not yet ready, you are welcome to arrive at the Center at any time.

  • Check Out

    Check-out time is 12:00 PM.

  • Join us for lunch!

    It’s common for Dharma Center residents and guests to gather for lunch. If this is something you are interested in, please notify our staff and we will do our best to arrange that for you.

  • Our guest rooms

    The Center offers two private guest rooms for those wanting to study, practice and attend the Dharma Center’s programs. One has a semi-private bath and the other has a communal bath. Both rooms are located up a small staircase, therefore we are not able to accommodate guests with disabilities at this time.

  • Cleaning policies

    Maui Dharma Center strives to keep the center superbly clean. This keeps our residents and visitors happy and content. As a guest, we ask if you are available to offer Karma Yoga of a few hours per week to offer physical service.

  • Leaving your room properly

    • Please remove all sheets and place them on the bed

    • Empty the trash

  • Smoke, alcohol and drug free environment

    Maui Dharma Center and the entire grounds is a smoke, alcohol and drug free environment. During the summer months, we are especially cautious to prevent the risk of wild fires.

  • Climate, sun protection and hydration

    The island of Maui has a tropical climate, moderate humidity and the weather can change fairly quickly. There is a lot of sunshine, and prevailing trade winds. Wear sunscreen, and a hat. It is easy to get dehydrated. Drink more water than you are used to drinking.

  • Fragrance Policy

    Maui Dharma Center is not a fragrance-free environment. Guests are encouraged to bring natural fragrance-free bath products and reduce essential oil use in support of sensitive individuals within the close spaces of the Temple.

  • Medical Services

    There are several emergency medical facilities in Kahului and Wailuku, fifteen minutes away.

  • Essentials to Bring

    • Water bottle

    • Sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen and bug repellant

    • Rain jacket, loose fitting clothing, layered clothing for frequent temperature changes

    • All your practice materials and supplies

    • All your prescription or over the counter medicines you might need.
